Discover Airlines, the quality leisure airline of the Lufthansa Group, is expanding its network out of Munich. On March 5, the airline launched its first intercontinental flight from Munich to Orlando. The flight also marks the start of Discover's new long-haul base at the Bavarian hub. To celebrate the launch, all passengers received traditional gingerbread hearts before departure.
Orlando is one of the most visited destinations in the USA and is known for its numerous theme parks. Discover Airlines is now operating the route three times a week with an Airbus A330. Flights will depart on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays until April 30, 2025. From May onward, departures will shift to Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays— in the afternoons.
Orlando, Florida’s fourth-largest city is one of three new intercontinental destinations that Discover Airlines will add to its Munich schedule for summer 2025. Further new destinations will be Windhoek and Calgary. The airline’s fleet consists of eight aircraft, offering flights to 32 vacation destinations with a total of 80 weekly departures on short-, medium-, and long-haul routes.
