Just in time for the start of the festive season, Santa Claus has landed in Munich from Rovaniemi in northern Finnish Lapland. Since December 3, the Norwegian airline Norwegian is offering direct flights between Munich and Rovaniemi on Tuesdays and Saturdays. The city on the Arctic Circle is considered the “official” hometown of Santa Claus and is home to the popular Santa Claus Village - a year-round highlight for children and adults alike. Northern Finland's Arctic winter wonderland of ice and snow is also the perfect place to experience the colorful natural phenomenon of the Northern Lights. Jost Lammers, CEO of Munich Airport: “We are delighted about this special destination just in time for the winter and Christmas season”.
