Press: Vietnam Airlines is expanding its flight schedule from Munich

Vietnam Airlines celebrated its premiere at Munich Airport with flights to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City

October 8, 2024

Premiere for a new airline and two new destinations at Munich Airport: Vietnam Airlines is expanding its flight schedule from Munich towards Asia and is now flying passengers to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City twice a week. For these new connections, the airline uses a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner. The aircraft has a convenient three-class configuration, consisting of Business Class, Premium Economy, and Economy Class.

Flights to the Vietnamese capital city Hanoi will take place on Mondays and Saturdays. Ho Chi Minh City, also known as Saigon, is served every Tuesday. Starting in December 2024, the frequency will be increased to two flights per week: on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This makes Munich Airport only the fourth European destination in the route network of Vietnam Airlines, alongside Frankfurt, London Heathrow and Paris Charles de Gaulle.

"We are delighted about the new flights by Vietnam Airlines from Munich Airport. The connections are a significant expansion of our Asia services and strengthen Munich Airport's position as one of the leading aviation hubs in Europe. We are confident that these new direct flights will further enhance economic ties and cultural exchange between Bavaria and Vietnam," said Jost Lammers, CEO of Munich Airport, on the occasion of the first flight.

Vietnam has become one of the most popular holiday destinations in Southeast Asia and is now one of the most visited countries in the Asia-Pacific region. Bavarian companies have made substantial investments in Vietnam. In addition, there are numerous relationships in the field of science and education.
